Product Overview

What is Infinio Accelerator?

Infinio Accelerator is a software-based server-side cache that provides high performance to any storage system in a VMware environment.  It increases IOPS and decreases latency by caching a copy of the hottest data on server-side resources such as RAM and flash devices. Native inline deduplication ensures that all local storage resources are used as efficiently as possible, reducing the cost of performance.  You can see results instantly following the non-disruptive, 15-minute installation that doesn’t require any downtime, data migration, or reboots.

What types of customers can benefit the most from Infinio Accelerator?

Infinio’s customers have seen storage performance gains across a variety of industries and workloads. Enterprise applications, virtual desktops, and software and build and test environments are among the most common use cases.  Whether you're trying to meet the requirements of demanding applications or demanding users, or seeking business value from time-sensitive processes, Infinio can help.

Does Infinio offer Deduplication or Compression?

Yes.  Infinio provides inline deduplication for all RAM and flash devices, resulting in benefits ranging from 5X-10X depending on the workload.

What results can I expect?

If you’re seeking to improve centralized storage performance, you may see improvements to response time upwards of 20X, and improvements in throughput upwards of 10X.  If you have a server-side storage architectures (like Hyper-Converged Infrastructure) you can also realize performance gains, due to the integration directly into VMware’s storage stack through the VAIO framework.

How do you manage Infinio Accelerator?

Infinio is managed from a console virtual machine, easily accessed through a web interface.  All typical operations and reporting are available through the UI, and most administrators change very few settings after their initial deployment.

How is Infinio Accelerator licensed?

Infinio is licensed for each ESX host in an Infinio cluster.  There are no additional costs for capacity, virtual desktops, or any other functionality.  For a quote, contact your channel partner or sales team.

Product Requirements

Does Infinio support flash devices?

Yes. Infinio’s innovative tiered caching architecture is built around RAM as a primary tier, with the option to add flash devices or SSDs to increase the cache size.

What flash devices do you recommend?

We support any flash devices listed in VMware’s compatibility guide.  Our customers have seen the best results on Enterprise-class NVMe devices, although many customers use PCIe flash devices and some use SAS-attached SSDs as well.

What types of storage are supported?

Infinio works with most storage that VMware supports, including SAN (Fibre Channel and iSCSI), NAS (NFS), and DAS hardware, as well as Virtual Volumes (VVOLs), and Virtual SAN (vSAN).

What are the system requirements for Infinio Accelerator?

The latest version of Infinio (3.x) requires both vCenter and ESXi hosts to be running v6. Further specific requirements are available as you prepare to deploy.
