Cambridge, Mass. – May 7, 2015 – The 12th Annual MIT Sloan CIO Symposium has announced Infinio as one of 10 finalists for the 2015 Innovation Showcase. Its Infinio Accelerator represents strong value and innovation to organizations now and in the future. Infinio will receive key exposure to many of the world’s most creative and influential IT executives at the Symposium on May 20, 2015.
Providing sufficient storage performance for virtualized environments is one of the most difficult problems facing IT organizations today. Traditional solutions can be expensive and require disruptive changes to the datacenter. Infinio’s storage acceleration software, Infinio Accelerator, delivers unprecedented performance at a dramatically lower cost than alternatives by leveraging scalable, host-based resources to improve performance. The solution – recognized by MIT, as well as in the recent Gartner’s Cool Vendors report – increases storage performance with a software-based approach that leverages existing resources within hosts to offer the performance required by growing virtualized enterprise applications and desktops.
“Infinio enables a host-accelerated storage architecture that is a compelling alternative for improving storage performance, with disruptive economics,” said Arun Agarwal, CEO and co-founder of Infinio and an MIT alumnus. “The recognition from MIT is a validation of the market need for this technology, and it reinforces our commitment to the innovation and ingenuity necessary to bring this level of value to our partners and customers.”
“It is an honor to name these 10 talented companies to our 2015 Innovation Showcase,”said David L. Verrill, executive director of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy and co-chair of the Innovation Showcase. “These finalists all represent unique and valuable cutting-edge technology solutions to enable innovation success for future digital enterprises.”
After careful consideration, the Innovation Showcase Judges evaluated and selected Infinio for this honor based on four criteria:
- Actively provides a B2B or B2C enterprise IT solution product to the market;
- Is a startup with less than $10 million in 2014 revenues or Series A VC funding;
- Is selling enterprise IT solutions to CIOs or corporate IT departments; and
- Shows innovation and/or strategic value with potential impact on the top and/or bottom lines.
